But if you’re honest, it feels like you’re living off leftovers, just enough to get by, just enough to endure another day.
If you’ve ever wondered whether God sees you in those quiet, hidden seasons, the story of Ruth answers with a resounding yes.

Ruth was a widowed foreigner in a land that wasn’t her own. She had no status, no wealth, and no natural inheritance. Each day she walked behind harvesters, gathering leftover grain from the corners of a field, simply trying to survive.

On the surface, nothing about her situation looked promising. But Ruth had something powerful: faithfulness. She honored her covenant with Naomi. She showed up daily. She worked diligently in obscurity. And while she remained faithful in the little, God was already working behind the scenes on her behalf.

Then Came the Shift. What began as survival slowly turned into surplus. Boaz, the landowner, noticed her. He instructed his workers to intentionally leave extra grain behind for her. Suddenly, Ruth began gathering more than enough.

Favor found her.

And not long after, she became more than a gleaner in someone else’s field; she became the bride of the landowner. The woman who once picked up scraps was now connected to ownership.
Her story reminds us of this powerful truth:

When you take the limits off God, He takes the limits off your life.
From Laboring for the Harvest to Living From ItThere is a profound revelation in Ruth’s story. The grain Boaz poured into her cloak wasn’t seed to sow. It was already harvested. Already threshed. Already prepared. She didn’t have to plant it or process it. She simply received it. That grain represented covenant provision.

Boaz’s pledge to redeem and marry Ruth was more than romance; it was a picture of divine alignment and supernatural supply. As her Kinsman Redeemer (Leviticus 25:47–55), he restored what she had lost and secured her future. Isaiah 54:5 declares, “For your Creator will be your husband; the Lord of Heaven’s Armies is his name! He is your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, the God of all the earth.”

Boaz is a prophetic picture of Christ our Redeemer, who doesn’t just help us glean… He brings us into covenant.

The Revelation: The Harvest Is Now
Through Ruth’s journey, we see a divine shift:

From striving to abiding

From lack to abundance

From laboring to resting in covenant provision

Jesus said in John 4:35, “Lift up your eyes… the fields are already white for harvest.” Because of Christ’s finished work, we are not waiting on a future victory. We are invited into a present reality. The harvest is not someday; it is now. Ruth still showed up. She still worked. But her breakthrough didn’t come from striving; it came from alignment.

From Overlooked to Owner
Ruth’s story is proof that you can go from overlooked to owner, from gleaning to governing, and from surviving to thriving. No matter what you’ve sown—your tears, your prayers, your quiet obedience—your harvest is already secured in Christ. You don’t have to chase blessings or fight for scraps. Your Redeemer has already made provision. Even now, God is speaking to destiny helpers on your behalf. He is stirring hearts and positioning opportunities. He is leaving “wheat on the ground” for you: open doors, favor, resources, and divine appointments.

Your part is to stay faithful. Keep showing up. Keep putting Him first and keep believing. What looks like survival may actually be positioning. The harvest is here.

Every Tongue That Rises Against Me in Judgment Is Condemned

https://www.angelinelwilliams.com/blog/every-tongue-that-rises-against-me-in-judgment-is-condemned

https://www.angelinelwilliams.com/blog/every-tongue-that-rises-against-me-in-judgment-is-condemned#comments

Judgment

Protection

Spiritual Authority

Spiritual Warfare

One of the most powerful promises in Scripture is found in Isaiah 54:17, where God declares, “Every tongue that rises against you in judgment you shall condemn.” This verse, recorded in the Book of Isaiah, has brought comfort, strength, and confidence to believers for generations. But what does it truly mean, and how does it apply to your daily life?

At its core, this verse speaks about words spoken judgments, accusations, criticisms, and negative declarations that come against you. In the Bible, the “tongue” often represents speech and influence. It includes false statements, gossip, slander, harsh criticism, and even subtle discouragement meant to weaken your faith. These are words designed to damage your confidence, question your calling, or undermine your relationship with God.
When Scripture says these tongues “rise against you in judgment,” it refers to attempts to condemn you. This is when people, circumstances, or even spiritual forces try to act as judge over your life. They declare that you are disqualified, unworthy, or destined to fail. Sometimes it comes through others. Sometimes it comes through memories of your past. Other times, it shows up in your own thoughts, telling you that you are not enough.
God’s response to this is clear: those judgments are condemned. To condemn something in biblical terms means to declare it invalid, powerless, and without authority. It means that God Himself steps in and overturns the verdict. He announces that the accusation does not stand in His court. No matter how loud the criticism is or how convincing the lie sounds, heaven has already ruled in your favor.
This promise is not random. The verse goes on to say that this protection is the heritage of the servants of the Lord. In other words, it is part of your spiritual inheritance. If you belong to God, this defense belongs to you. You are not left to defend yourself alone. You are backed by divine authority. God positions Himself as your advocate, protector, and judge.
In practical life, this promise becomes real when you are misunderstood, falsely accused, or unfairly treated. It applies when your character is questioned, your intentions are doubted, or your obedience is criticized. It speaks to moments when others try to define you by your mistakes instead of your redemption. God promises that none of those voices will have the final say.
This verse also applies to internal battles. Many believers struggle more with their own condemning thoughts than with outside criticism. Shame, guilt, fear, and self-doubt can rise up and speak against your identity. They tell you that you are unworthy of God’s blessings or incapable of fulfilling His purpose. According to Isaiah 54:17, those voices are condemned too. God’s Word has greater authority than your emotions or past experiences.
Understanding this promise changes how you pray. Instead of begging God to defend you, you can stand on His Word with confidence. You can declare that every false accusation, every lie, and every spirit of condemnation has been overruled. You can align your faith with God’s verdict rather than human opinion.
A simple prayer based on this truth might sound like this: “Father, according to Your Word, every tongue that rises against me in judgment is condemned. I reject lies, accusations, and condemnation. I receive Your truth, Your peace, and Your protection. I stand in Your righteousness through Christ. Amen.”
In simple terms, this verse means that no lie spoken about you can cancel your destiny. No accusation can override God’s plan. No judgment from people, circumstances, or the enemy is stronger than God’s voice. He is your Defender. He is your Advocate. He is your righteous Judge.
When you hold on to this truth, you walk with greater confidence, peace, and spiritual authority. You stop living to please critics and start living to honor God. You stop fearing rejection and start trusting divine protection. And you begin to rest in the assurance that heaven is always on your side.
Every tongue that rises against you has already been answered by God.
And His verdict is final.

Crowned with Glory, Guided by Wisdom

https://www.angelinelwilliams.com/blog/todays-word-september-12th-dominion-with-wisdom

https://www.angelinelwilliams.com/blog/todays-word-september-12th-dominion-with-wisdom#comments

Devotional

Proverbs

Psalm

TODAY'S WORD

Today’s Word invites us to pause and reflect on the greatness of God and the value He places on us. Today’s Scriptures (NKJV)Psalm 8:3–7: “3 When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained, 4 What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him? 5 For You have made him a little lower than the angels, And You have crowned him with glory and honor. 6 You have made him to have [...]

Today’s Word invites us to pause and reflect on the greatness of God and the value He places on us.

Today’s Scriptures (NKJV)
Psalm 8:3–7: “3 When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained, 4 What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him? 5 For You have made him a little lower than the angels, And You have crowned him with glory and honor. 6 You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet, 7 All sheep and oxen—Even the beasts of the field.”

Proverbs 8:3–7: “3 She cries out by the gates, at the entry of the city, At the entrance of the doors.4 ‘To you, O men, I call, And my voice is to the sons of men.
5 O you simple ones, understand prudence, And you fools, be of an understanding heart. 6 Listen, for I will speak of excellent things, And from the opening of my lips will come right things; 7 For my mouth will speak truth; Wickedness is an abomination to my lips.’”

Psalm 8 fills us with awe at His creation and reminds us that He crowned us with glory and entrusted us with dominion over the works of His hands. Psalm 8:3–7 draws us into wonder: the God who placed the stars in the sky is mindful of us and has given us a crown of glory and honor. This is not just a title—it’s a mandate. God has entrusted us with authority and stewardship over His creation.

Proverbs 8 calls us to listen to wisdom’s cry, which speaks truth and calls us into understanding and righteousness. Together, these verses show that with the privilege of dominion comes the responsibility to walk in wisdom and truth. Proverbs 8:3–7 teaches that wisdom is available to all who will listen. It calls out publicly, urging us to grow in understanding and choose what is right. Dominion without wisdom can lead to pride or misuse of authority, but when paired with wisdom and truth, it reflects God’s heart and brings His order into the world.

God has given you dignity, authority, and a crown of glory, and He calls you to exercise it with wisdom and integrity. Tune your ear to wisdom’s cry, speak truth, and live as one entrusted with God’s creation.

Prayer
“Lord, I am amazed that You are mindful of me and have crowned me with glory, honor and dominion. Help me steward the authority You’ve given me with wisdom and righteousness. Let my heart and lips stay aligned with Your truth so that my life reflects Your glory. Surrounded by enemies and weighed down by trouble, he does not rely on his own strength. Instead, he calls on God—the One who lifts him up from the very gates of death. This verse reassures us that no situation is too deep, no battle too fierce, and no pain too great for God’s delivering power.
Proverbs 9:13 warns us that foolishness is loud, persistent, and demanding. It competes for our attention through distractions, negative influences, and careless choices. Though it may sound convincing or appealing, it has nothing life-giving to offer. When we listen to its voice, it only leads to harm, confusion, and regret.
This passage teaches us the importance of spiritual discernment. We must learn to recognize when a voice—whether internal or external—is drawing us away from God’s truth. With wisdom and humility, we are called to turn away from foolishness and cling to what is right.
When trouble presses in, the first response of faith is to cry out for God’s mercy. He promises to lift us up and strengthen us. But deliverance is only part of the journey. God also calls us to guard our hearts and ears from empty noise and destructive influences.
His wisdom brings clarity where foolishness brings chaos. His truth brings peace where distraction brings confusion. As we stay close to Him, we grow in discernment, stability, and spiritual maturity.

Lesson for TodayWhen you are overwhelmed, call on God’s mercy—He will lift you up. And as He restores you, stay alert. Guard your heart and listen for His wisdom, not the loud voices of foolishness that seek to pull you off course.
Choose mercy.
Choose wisdom.
Choose life.

Prayer“Lord, have mercy on me and lift me up from every place of trouble. Let's see what God has to say...

Psalm 4:7 – “You have put gladness in my heart, More than in the season that their grain and wine increased.”

Proverbs 4:7 – “Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.”

In a world that constantly promotes success, wealth, and possessions as the path to happiness, God offers us something far greater. Today’s word highlights two powerful treasures that only come from Him: true gladness and lasting wisdom. These gifts cannot be purchased, earned through status, or obtained through achievement. They flow directly from a life rooted in God’s presence.

In the Book of Psalms, Psalm 4:7 declares, “You have put gladness in my heart, more than in the season that their grain and wine increased.” This verse reminds us that God Himself is the source of real joy. David recognized that even in times when others were prospering materially, the gladness God placed in his heart was far greater than anything money could provide. This joy was not dependent on circumstances. It came from relationship.

Worldly happiness is often tied to what we have or what we achieve. It rises when things go well and fades when challenges come. But God’s gladness is different. It is steady, deep, and sustaining. It brings peace in uncertainty, strength in weakness, and hope in difficult seasons. When God fills your heart with His joy, you are no longer controlled by external conditions. You are anchored in His faithfulness.

Alongside gladness, Scripture also points us to another priceless treasure: wisdom. In the Book of Proverbs, Proverbs 4:7 declares, “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.” This verse places wisdom at the top of life’s priorities. It tells us that above wealth, recognition, and comfort, we should pursue God’s wisdom.

Biblical wisdom is more than knowledge or intelligence. It is the ability to see life from God’s perspective and to make decisions that align with His will. Wisdom teaches us how to walk in integrity, manage relationships, steward resources, and respond wisely in difficult moments. It protects us from costly mistakes and leads us into lasting peace.

When we seek God’s wisdom, something beautiful happens. Gladness begins to grow naturally in our hearts. Why? Because wisdom brings clarity. It removes confusion. It replaces fear with confidence in God. It helps us trust His direction even when we do not understand the full picture. A wise heart is a peaceful heart, and a peaceful heart is often a joyful one.

Together, Psalm 4:7 and Proverbs 4:7 reveal a powerful truth: fulfillment is not found in the abundance of things, but in the abundance of God’s presence and guidance. Many people spend their lives chasing success, only to feel empty when they finally reach it. God invites us to pursue something better a life filled with His joy and shaped by His wisdom.

This does not mean that material blessings are wrong. God delights in providing for His children. But possessions were never meant to be our source of security or identity. When joy comes from God and wisdom leads our decisions, blessings become tools instead of idols. We enjoy them without depending on them.

Choosing gladness and wisdom begins with daily surrender. It means seeking God in prayer, spending time in His Word, and listening for His direction. It means asking Him, “Lord, give me Your heart, Your perspective, and Your understanding.” As we make Him our priority, He faithfully fills our lives with what truly satisfies.

In every season, remember this: true joy is found in God’s presence, and lasting success flows from His wisdom. When you pursue these two treasures, you will discover a life marked not by emptiness, but by peace, purpose, and deep spiritual fulfillment. Gladness and wisdom are not distant promises.
They are gifts God is ready to place in your heart today.

Prayer
“Father, thank You for the gladness You place in my heart that is greater than worldly gain. Teach me to prize wisdom and understanding above everything else, so that my life reflects Your truth and joy. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Hearing God’s Voice in a Noisy World

https://www.angelinelwilliams.com/blog/todays-word-september-9th-801-am

https://www.angelinelwilliams.com/blog/todays-word-september-9th-801-am#comments

Devotional

TODAY'S WORD

In the middle of busy schedules, constant distractions, and endless demands, God invites us into a higher place, a place of worship and wisdom. Scripture reminds us that when we lift our eyes to God’s greatness and tune our ears to His voice, our lives are transformed. Two powerful verses help us understand this truth: one from the Psalms and one from Proverbs.

Psalm 8:1 – “O Lord, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth, Who have set Your glory above the heavens!” This verse celebrates the majesty of God’s name and His glory above the heavens. Worship begins with recognizing His excellence and authority over all creation.

Proverbs 8:1 – “Does not wisdom cry out, And understanding lift up her voice?” This verse shows wisdom as a voice crying out, urging us to listen and gain understanding. Just as creation declares God’s glory, wisdom calls for our response.
In the Book of Psalms, Psalm 8:1 declares, “O Lord, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth, Who have set Your glory above the heavens!” This verse celebrates the majesty, authority, and beauty of God’s name. David begins by recognizing God as Lord over all creation. He looks at the heavens, the earth, and everything in between and responds with worship.
This is where true worship begins—with recognition. Worship is more than singing songs or attending church. It is the heartfelt acknowledgment that God is supreme, holy, and worthy of honor. When we declare His excellence, we align our hearts with reality: God reigns above every problem, every limitation, and every circumstance. His glory is higher than anything we face.
Worship shifts our perspective. Instead of focusing on what is wrong, we focus on who God is. Instead of being overwhelmed by challenges, we become aware of His power. As we exalt His name, fear loses its grip, discouragement fades, and faith rises.
In the Book of Proverbs, Proverbs 8:1 asks, “Does not wisdom cry out, And understanding lift up her voice?” This verse presents wisdom as something alive and active—calling, speaking, and inviting us to listen. God’s wisdom is not hidden or reserved for a few. It is constantly reaching out to those who are willing to pay attention.
Wisdom is God’s guidance for daily living. It teaches us how to make godly decisions, handle relationships, manage resources, and walk in integrity. Yet many people miss wisdom’s voice because their lives are too crowded with noise. They are listening to opinions, fears, trends, and pressures, but not to God.
Just as creation declares God’s glory, wisdom calls for our response. It speaks through Scripture, prayer, godly counsel, and the gentle prompting of the Holy Spirit. But we must slow down long enough to hear it.
These two verses together lift our eyes and tune our ears. Psalm 8 lifts our eyes to God’s greatness. Proverbs 8 tunes our ears to God’s instruction. One calls us to worship. The other calls us to walk wisely. Together, they remind us that worship and wisdom go hand in hand.
When you exalt the name of the Lord, your heart becomes sensitive to His voice. Worship positions you spiritually. It clears distractions and opens your spirit to receive instruction. A worshipful heart is a teachable heart. When God is honored, His wisdom flows more freely.
Many people want God’s guidance without giving Him their devotion. They want answers without surrender. But Scripture shows us that intimacy comes before insight. When you honor God first, He leads you clearly. When you seek His presence, He gives you direction.
Worship lifts your focus to God’s glory, and wisdom directs your steps to live in His truth. Worship reminds you who God is. Wisdom shows you how to live for Him. Worship builds faith. Wisdom builds character. Worship connects you to heaven. Wisdom equips you for earth.
In practical terms, this means starting your day with praise and ending it with reflection. It means reading God’s Word not just for information, but for transformation. It means asking, “Lord, how can I honor You today?” and “Lord, what are You teaching me in this season?”
When worship and wisdom work together in your life, you become spiritually grounded. You are not easily shaken by circumstances. You are not easily misled by false voices. You walk with confidence, peace, and purpose because you are guided by God’s presence and His truth.
Today, choose to worship Him for who He is. Lift His name above your worries. Declare His greatness over your life. And as you do, listen closely. Wisdom is calling. God is speaking. In a world filled with uncertainty, conflicting voices, and shifting values, God offers us something unchanging: His faithfulness and His wisdom. When we seek Him sincerely, we find both security and direction.

SCRIPTURES (NKJV)

Psalm 9:10 – “And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.”

Proverbs 9:10 – “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”

Scripture gives us powerful insight into this truth through two verses that work together to shape our faith and our daily walk.
In the Book of Psalms, Psalm 9:10 declares, “And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.” This verse reassures us that God never abandons those who pursue Him. To “know His name” is more than knowing facts about God; it is knowing His character, His nature, and His ways.
God’s name carries His reputation. It tells the story of who He is: faithful, merciful, righteous, patient, and steadfast. Throughout Scripture, God reveals Himself as a keeper of promises and a defender of His people. When you truly know Him, trust becomes natural. You realize that placing your confidence in God is never a risk. He has never failed, and He never will.
Many people struggle with trust because they focus on circumstances instead of God’s character. But Psalm 9:10 reminds us that God has never forsaken those who seek Him. Even in seasons of silence, delay, or difficulty, He remains present. Seeking Him anchors your heart in His faithfulness and keeps you from drifting into fear or doubt.
Alongside trust, God also calls us into wisdom. In the Book of Proverbs, Proverbs 9:10 tells us, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” This verse reveals the foundation of true spiritual insight. Wisdom does not begin with education, experience, or opinion. It begins with reverence for God.
The “fear of the Lord” is not about being afraid of God. It is about honoring Him deeply. It is living with awe, respect, humility, and submission to His authority. It means recognizing that God is holy, wise, and worthy of obedience. When you fear the Lord, you choose His ways over your own. You value His truth above popular opinion.
This reverence opens the door to understanding. As you grow in your knowledge of God, His Word, His heart, and His will, your spiritual perception increases. You begin to see life through His perspective. You learn how to make decisions that bring peace instead of regret, clarity instead of confusion, and growth instead of stagnation.
When Psalm 9:10 and Proverbs 9:10 are read together, they reveal a beautiful spiritual pattern. Seeking God leads to trust. Reverencing God leads to wisdom. Trust anchors you. Wisdom guides you. Together, they produce stability, maturity, and confidence in your walk with Christ.
When you seek the Lord, you gain both assurance and insight. You learn that He will never forsake you, and you discover how to walk wisely in every season. You stop being driven by fear and start being led by faith. You stop reacting emotionally and start responding spiritually. You move from surviving spiritually to thriving in Christ.
This kind of life does not happen by accident. It develops through daily pursuit. It grows as you spend time in prayer, meditate on God’s Word, and intentionally submit your choices to Him. It is built when you ask, “Lord, what honors You?” and “Lord, what are You teaching me right now?”
As you continue to seek Him, God shapes your heart. He strengthens your trust. He sharpens your discernment. He increases your understanding. And He leads you step by step into greater spiritual maturity.
True security is found in knowing God’s name.
True wisdom is found in honoring His authority.
True growth is found in seeking Him daily.
When you live this way, your faith becomes steady, your decisions become clearer, and your life becomes a testimony of God’s faithfulness.

Prayer“Father, I put my trust in Your name today. Thank You for never forsaking me when I seek You. Teach me to walk in the fear of the Lord and grow in wisdom through the knowledge of who You are. Let my life reflect Your truth and Your guidance. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

TODAY'S WORD 9-6 4:30 am

https://www.angelinelwilliams.com/blog/todays-word-9-6-430-am

https://www.angelinelwilliams.com/blog/todays-word-9-6-430-am#comments

Devotional

TODAY'S WORD

This morning’s Word brought me to Psalm 4:3 and Proverbs 4:3. At the same time, Proverbs warns of the deceptive path of sin. It may sound appealing, but its end is death. Today’s word calls us to cry out to God, walk in discretion, and guard our steps so they remain on the path of life.

Psalm 5:2–5 shows the intimacy of prayer, “My King and my God, for to You I will pray.” Prayer aligns us with His holiness and separates us from the ways of the wicked.

Proverbs 5:2,5 urges us to preserve discretion and keep knowledge on our lips. God invites us to bring our frailty and troubles before Him. David cries out for mercy and healing in his frailty, while Proverbs warns that careless words can entrap us, urging us to seek freedom and deliverance quickly. Together, they show us that life and healing are found in God’s mercy and in aligning our words with His truth.

Mercy and healing flow when we confess our weakness and depend fully on God. When you are weak, cry out for His mercy. He is your healer. What we speak can either free us or trap us. Wrong confessions can snare us like a hunter’s trap, but wisdom calls us to break free quickly, like a gazelle escaping danger. Guard your words, because they carry power to either bind or release you. Speak life, and if you find yourself trapped, run quickly to God’s deliverance.

Prayer
“Lord, I confess my weakness and ask for Your mercy and healing today. Help me guard my tongue so my words align with Your truth and bring life. Deliver me from every snare, and set me free to walk in Your peace.
