Are going through some challenges, setbacks, or dark moments in life? Have you been searching high and low for your breakthrough? I want you to know that what you're going through is just a phase, a process. When everything that can go wrong goes wrong, you are on the brink of breakthrough!
Jesus said in John 10:10 that Satan comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. His native language is lie (John 8:44). He has been trying to deceive man since the Garden through a clever line of reasoning.
The Body of Christ is made up of individuals at every possible level of spirituality. Some people are fully aware of the Believer's freedom and liberty in Jesus, and they live accordingly.
It is almost impossible to escape profanity, vulgarity, and immorality in today’s society. It is on the television, in the movies and in our music, on the side of buses, in our books and pretty much everywhere we look.
“Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him. As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.” − Psalm 68:1-2
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out the world is full of darkness. Because of sin, we all experience things God never intended us to experience. Sin has brought brokenness, heartache, pain, and tears. Light improves our vision, so it is important that we acquire the Light of Christ and remain in it.
“This is real love—not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.” 1 John 4:10 NLT
As Christians the greatest battle that we face is the battle with our own mind. What we think on (meditate on) we believe, do, and say. Proverbs 23:7 tells us as a man thinks in his heart, so is he.
Wow! We made it to 2020. Now what shall we do with the new mercy that God has given us. I believe because God’s laws are for our good (Deuteronomy 10:13) there is nothing more important that we can do as we move forward into the new year than write God’s word on our heart.
The devil is a liar. Jesus called him the father of lies, and of all that is false (John 8:44). He lies to us and tells us things about ourselves, about other people and about circumstances that are just not true. He does come announcing that he is here to destroy us. He doesn’t tell us the entire lie all at once. No, he is strategic. He moves slowly and cautiously bombarding our mind with little nagging thoughts, suspicions, doubts, fears, and theories to accomplish his goal of setting up strongholds in our mind.
Satan has studied us for a long time. He knows what we like and what we don't like, our insecurities, weaknesses and fears and if you pay attention every one of the lies he bombards us with is based in one of these.
If Satan can get us to play his lies over and over in our heads, we will develop a stronghold which will ultimately cause us to live a life of misery and constant defeat. His ultimate goal is to get us to give up, stop believing in God and win our soul. That’s what he’s after you know. Your soul. If we don’t put him in check, this is exactly what will happen
A stronghold is spiritual. It is an area in which we are held captive to due to a certain way of thinking. Satan is after your soul, and he uses your mind to accomplish his goal. Many times during the day, when thoughts come into our minds, we make the choice who we will listen to: the Holy Spirit and truth, or the enemy and lies. As Christians, we have both a spiritual nature and a carnal nature. Satan works in our carnal nature. God works through His Holy Spirit it in our spiritual nature. Satan is a spiritual being. You cannot fight anything spiritual with physical things.
Jesus said in John 6:63, "The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life." You may think that you are strong in yourself, outside of God and His Word… that you can handle it and pull it all together on your own. Well, tell me… how is that working out for you? How long you have been trying to do things your way only to get to the point where you are now… defeated, not caring anymore, ready to give up?
You can only deal with spirit through Spirit, God’s Spirit. Our spiritual nature listens to the Holy Spirit. Our carnal nature listens to the enemy. No matter how you try to get around it, over it or under it God’s Word is your only defense against Satan’s lies. God says through Paul in 2 Corinthians 10:4-6, "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled."
Jesus said, "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (John 8:32). Truth is revealed in the Bible, but we must also practice the truth. Jesus said in the previous verse, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed" (John 8:31). We must get the knowledge of God’s Truth in us. We must renew our minds with His Word so that when Satan comes to bombard us with His lies we can do like Jesus did. We get God’s word in us through Godly preaching, teaching, books, tapes, seminars and private Bible study.
With His last breath on the Cross Jesus said, "It is finished". He has done all He is going to do. Now it is up to us to believe in what He has done and abide in Him (John 15:7). We must study and meditate on the word until it becomes revelation given by inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Listen God is miraculous, but He is not a magician. He will not just drop His word into us, we’ve got to do our part. Today, if you don't know Jesus, ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes to the Truth, and He will.
