It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out the world is full of darkness. Because of sin, we all experience things God never intended us to experience. Sin has brought brokenness, heartache, pain, and tears. Light improves our vision, so it is important that we acquire the Light of Christ and remain in it. ![]() “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in Heaven.” – Matthew 5:16 Without light there is no direction. In darkness, you are blind to the enemy, the devil who works in the hearts of men. Ephesians 6:12 tells us that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood (humans), but against the devil and his principalities, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places. Believers are called to be a light to the world. If our light is dim men may not see the real cause of their anguish and despair. They can’t identify the real foe, Satan, the author of sin. Our shining light points people to Christ, the answer to all our problems; the solution to all pain.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, Jesus, the light of the world gave us His light so that the world can see us as different. Thank You for Your Holy Spirit who reminds me to do what is good and pleasing to You; to let my light shine that the world may see Your good works, and glorify You. Jesus said in John 8:12 “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” May Your fruit be evident in my life. Help me to be obedient to the leading of Your Holy Spirit as You accomplish Your work within me. Help me to continue in the light even when I think no one is looking. Guide and direct me to encounters where Your light to shine brightly. In Jesus’ name I pray, AMEN.
