Scriptures on Strength And Power

1/30/2021

In this uncertain world, strength and courage are vital to our Christian walk. Here are some verses that have strengthened and encouraged me and Christians. If you are going through a struggle or a trial right now, meditate on these verses for your personal strength and power. Let me remind you that no passage of scripture will help you if you don’t put them into action (James 1:22). Use these Scriptures or others that come to mind and write down a couple of prayer confessions to stand on and pray. Be sure to ask the Holy Spirit to help you.
  1. 1 Chronicles 28:20: David also said to Solomon his son, “Be strong and courageous and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the LORD is finished.
  2. 1 Corinthians 15:58: Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
  3. 1 Corinthians 16:13: Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.
  4. 1 John 3:3: And everyone who has this hope focused on him purifies himself, just as Jesus is pure).
  5. 1 John 4:1-2: Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to determine if they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses Jesus as the Christ who has come in the flesh is from God,
  6. 1 John 5:11-13: And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.
  7. 1 Peter 1:13: Therefore, get your minds ready for action by being fully sober, and set your hope completely on the grace that will be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed.
  8. 1 Peter 1:21: Through him you now trust in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.
  9. 1 Peter 1:3: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By his great mercy he gave us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
  10. 2 Kings 6:16: He replied, "Don't be afraid, for our side outnumbers them."
  11. 2 Thessalonians 3:16: Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with you all.
  12. 2 Timothy 1:7: For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline.
  13. 2 Timothy 1:7: For God did not give us a Spirit of fear but of power and love and self-control.
  14. Colossians 1:27: God wanted to make known to them the glorious riches of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
  15. Colossians 1:5: Your faith and love have arisen from the hope laid up for you in heaven, which you have heard about in the message of truth, the gospel.
  16. Deuteronomy 31:6-8: Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the presence of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you must go with this people into the land that the LORD swore to their ancestors to give them, and you must divide it among them as their inheritance.  The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
  17. Deuteronomy 31:8: The LORD is indeed going before you - he will be with you; he will not fail you or abandon you. Do not be afraid or discouraged!"
  18. Ephesians 6:10: Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
  19. Exodus 15:2: The LORD is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation; This is my God, and I will praise Him; My father’s God, and I will extol Him.

  22. Isaiah 40:29: He gives strength to those who are tired; to the ones who lack power, he gives renewed energy.
  23. Isaiah 40:31: But those who wait for the LORD's help find renewed strength; they rise up as if they had eagles' wings, they run without growing weary, they walk without getting tired.
  24. Isaiah 41:10-13: Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish. Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought. For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.
  25. Isaiah 42:16: I will lead the blind along an unfamiliar way; I will guide them down paths they have never traveled. I will turn the darkness in front of them into light, and level out the rough ground. This is what I will do for them. I will not abandon them.

  31. John 14:27: "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; I do not give it to you as the world does. Do not let your hearts be distressed or lacking in courage.
  32. John 16:13: But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. For he will not speak on his own authority, but will speak whatever he hears, and will tell you what is to come.
  33. John 16:24: Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive it, so that your joy may be complete.
  34. Joshua 1:8: Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

  45. Psalm 139:9-16: If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee. For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

  47. Psalm 23:1-6: The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.  Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. (KJV).

Selah.
