At 4:48 am, I woke again, and today’s verses are Psalm 4:4–8 and Proverbs 4:4–8. In these passages, God speaks of resting in His peace, meditating on His Word, and treasuring wisdom above all else. Even the timing of this Word reminds us that God orders our steps and desires to fill our days with His wisdom and peace. Let's read... Psalm 4:4-8: 4 Be angry, and do not sin. Meditate within your heart on your bed, and be still. Selah 5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, And put your trust in the Lord. 6 There are many who say, “Who will show us any good?” Lord, lift up the light of Your countenance upon us. 7 You have put gladness in my heart, More than in the season that their grain and wine increased. 8 I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.
Proverbs 4:4-8: 4 He also taught me, and said to me: “Let your heart retain my words; Keep my commands, and live. 5 Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth. 6 Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you; Love her, and she will keep you. 7 Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. 8 Exalt her, and she will promote you; She will bring you honor, when you embrace her. LESSON FOR TODAY When your heart feels restless, remember: peace is not found in possessions or in answers from the world—it is found in God’s presence. Wisdom is not just knowledge; it is living in alignment with His Word. If you exalt wisdom and embrace it, God will exalt you. If you trust in Him, He will give you peace and safety that nothing in this world can provide. PRAYER “Father, today I choose to be still before You. Teach me to embrace Your wisdom, to live by Your Word, and to trust You with my whole heart. Fill me with Your gladness, and let Your peace guard me through every moment. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
