At 6:47 am, my eyes opened, and the Spirit led me to Psalm 6:4,7 and Proverbs 6:4,7. Let’s see what the Spirit has to say. Psalm 6:4, 7 says, 4 Return, O Lord, deliver me! Oh, save me for Your mercies’ sake!
7 My eye wastes away because of grief; It grows old because of all my enemies. Proverbs 6:4,7 say, 4 Give no sleep to your eyes, Nor slumber to your eyelids. 7 Which, having no captain, Overseer or ruler, These verses capture both a cry for deliverance and a call to spiritual alertness. Together, they remind us that in times of struggle, we must both depend on God’s saving power and remain watchful in our walk with Him. Lesson for Today Grief and opposition weighed heavily on David, yet even in weakness, he knew deliverance would come not from himself but from the Lord. His hope was anchored in God’s mercy. When grief threatens to overwhelm you, cry out for God’s mercy and deliverance. But don’t stop there, stay spiritually awake, alert, and diligent. Don’t allow spiritual slumber to overtake you. God delivers those who call on Him and remain watchful in His Word. Prayer “Father, I cry out for Your mercy and deliverance today. Help me stay awake in spirit and diligent in faith, so I do not fall into spiritual slumber. Strengthen me to watch, pray, and walk in Your victory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.” Comments are closed.
