Jesus said in John 10:10 that Satan comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. His native language is lie (John 8:44). He has been trying to deceive man since the Garden through a clever line of reasoning.

![]() “Though the fig tree may not blossom, Nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail, And the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the stalls—Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer's feet, And He will make me walk on my high hills.” - Habakkuk 3:17-19 (NKJV) The devil is a liar. Jesus called him the father of lies, and of all that is false (John 8:44). He lies to us and tells us things about ourselves, about other people and about circumstances that are just not true. He does come announcing that he is here to destroy us. He doesn’t tell us the entire lie all at once. No, he is strategic. He moves slowly and cautiously bombarding our mind with little nagging thoughts, suspicions, doubts, fears, and theories to accomplish his goal of setting up strongholds in our mind.
