Prayer For Those Struggling with Addiction and for Their Families
Heavenly Father, we come before you in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up (person’s name) who is struggling with alcohol and drug addiction. Lord God, we acknowledge that addiction is a stronghold that can only be broken by the power of your Holy Spirit. We declare that you are the God of deliverance and freedom, and we ask for Your intervention in this situation.
In Your Word, Lord God, You have promised that if we ask anything according to Your will, You will hear us. We believe that it is Your will for (person’s name) to be set free from the bondage of addiction and to walk in the abundant life that you have planned for (person’s name).
We rebuke the work of Satan in (person’s name)’s life, in the name of Jesus, and we ask that You break every chain that is holding (person’s name) captive. We pray for a supernatural release from the addiction to alcohol and marijuana. Let Your Holy Spirit convict (person’s name) of the destructive nature of these substances, and grant (person’s name) the strength and desire to turn away from them.
Lord, we ask for your divine protection over (person’s name). Surround (person’s name) with godly influences and remove any negative influences that may be leading (person’s name) astray. Bring people into (person’s name) life who will speak truth and love into (person’s name) situation, guiding (person’s name) towards a path of healing and restoration.
