Rise and Walk in Your Inheritance Part 2

​There comes a time when you must stop praying from the ground as though you have been forgotten and begin walking toward what Christ has already made available to you. Faith does not only believe God’s Word. Faith rises, leaves the tent behind, and takes the next step in obedience.
​

How do you rise and walk into your inheritance? You rise by refusing to continue living beneath what God has said about you. You make the decision that God’s Word will be greater in you than every lie that has kept you bound. You rise first by believing what God has said. You stop allowing fear, ignorance, shame, disappointment, and past experiences to have the final say over your life. You cannot walk in your inheritance while agreeing with the voice of defeat.

You must renew your mind with the Word of God until you begin to see yourself the way God sees you. You are not abandoned. You are not powerless. You are not a beggar standing outside the house. Through Jesus Christ, you have been adopted into the family of God. “For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption.” Romans 8:15

You rise by rejecting the orphan mentality. An orphan mentality says, “I have no one. I must fight for everything. God may help others, but He will not help me.” But the spirit of adoption says, “God is my Father. I belong to Him. I can trust His character, obey His Word, and approach Him with confidence through Jesus Christ.”
 
You rise by learning what belongs to you in Christ. Many believers remain outside because they have never studied the will. The Bible reveals what Christ has accomplished, what He has promised, what He commands, and how believers are called to live. You must know the Word for yourself. You cannot possess what you refuse to learn. “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32

You rise by changing your confession. Stop constantly speaking as though the enemy has more power than Christ. Stop agreeing with hopelessness. Speak the truth of Scripture over your mind, your household, your decisions, and your future. This does not mean denying reality. It means bringing your words into agreement with God’s truth.
 
You rise by obeying what God has already shown you. Some people are waiting for another prophecy, another sign, or another confirmation, while ignoring the last instruction God gave them. Faith is not only believing. Faith responds. There are doors that will not open through prayer alone because God has already told you to move, forgive, repent, apply, prepare, serve, study, or step forward. “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only.” James 1:22, KJV
 
You rise by using the authority Christ has given you. You have authority to resist the devil, reject temptation, cast down ungodly thoughts, stand against deception, pray in faith, and obey Christ without fear. You do not have authority to control people or command God. “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:7
 
You rise by leaving behind what keeps pulling you back to the tent. Your tent may be an old mindset, a sinful habit, fear of failure or a relationship that continually pulls you away from God. You cannot keep asking God to take you forward while holding tightly to what keeps you bound.
 
You rise by taking one faithful step at a time. You may not understand all of your inheritance yet, or everything God will do. But you can take the next step. Open the Word. Pray. Repent where necessary. Forgive. Make the call. Submit the application. Start the assignment. Use the gift. Walk through the door God has placed before you.
Get up. Believe what God has said. Submit to His Word. Reject every lie. Obey His instructions. And begin to walk as a son or daughter who knows that you belong to the Father.
