The Enemy Doesn't Always Look Like an Enemy

Not every attack announces itself as opposition. Sometimes the greatest need is not more warfare, but sharper discernment to recognize what is influencing a person or situation while keeping your own heart governed by the love of God.

Satan is not uncomfortable in religious environments. He lived in heaven, and he knows how to operate around preaching, worship, spiritual gifts, and church activity. He would rather come against you through a jealous or offended believer than a demon because you might recognize demonic opposition. And you will pray, you plead the blood of Jesus, and you will stand on the Word.

​But when it comes through a brother or sister in Christ you welcome them in, pull out a chair, and serve them cookies without discerning the jealousy, bitterness, or strife influencing their actions.

That is why discernment is necessary. Do not be suspicious of everyone, but do not be spiritually naive. Ask Father to sharpen your discernment. Love people, walk in forgiveness, guard your heart, and test every spirit by the Word of God.

Talk to your Father. Ask Him to increase your discernment and help you walk in His love:
Father, in the name of Jesus, I ask You to sharpen my discernment and help me operate in Your love. Grant me an understanding heart to distinguish truth from deception, Your guidance from distracting noise, and divine appointments from unnecessary distractions. Let Your Word be my filter, Your Spirit be my guide, and Your love govern every response. Amen.
