As The Rain Comes Down

It's raining here in my area and the water is pretty high in a certain part of my yard. As I watched the rain, I thought of the Scripture in Isaiah chapter 55 ...

"For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it."

This passage is very assuring to me... The rain water is always on the move. It does some mighty things as it hits the earth. Rain falling today may have been like water in a distant ocean days before. And the water you see in a river or stream may have been snow on a high mountaintop. The air is full of water, even if you can't see it. God is real even though you can't see HIM. Water is in the atmosphere, on the land, in the ocean, and underground. It moves from place to place through the water cycle.

"For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart." (Hebrews 4:12)
 
God is everywhere present--He is omnipresent. "Is not my word like fire, declares the LORD, and like a hammer that breaks the rock into pieces?" (Jeremiah 23:29) God’s word is powerful. The word of God, like water, has cleansing power. It cleanses us from the things that defile our lives. I could go on and on and on, but isn't that an awesome image?
 
Imagine the Word of God as it rains... You can almost see the water covering, softening, and nourishing plants, causing life to spring up where there was nothing. God's word in your mouth is powerful! God wants to provide you with breakthrough in every area of your life. Get in the Word of God and let God water and bring life to the dry areas in your life.
