![]() As Christians, we are fortunate in that our Father God is the owner of all riches and wealth. He has given us everything that we need that pertains to life and godliness. He is the provider of wealth and prosperity. Even knowing this, unfortunately, there’s a misconception among many Christians that it’s unspiritual or ungodly to be wealthy. However, according to the Bible it is clear that we are supposed to be blessed and reign in life (Psalm 84:11; Romans 5:17; 1 Peter 3:12). In Jeremiah 29:11, God says, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." As Christians, this should be our desire too. Jesus came to give abundant life (John 10:10)! Inability to pay your bills and struggling to provide for your family are not signs of reigning in life or having an abundant life. Neither are broken family relationships or broken marriages. If we want to access the riches of God that belong to us, we must draw nearer to Him. Jesus was prosperous in all He did. Prosperity is a state of mind that is backed up with faith. We have the mind of Christ; therefore, prosperity is within us. Instead of pursuing prosperity, if we pursue the God who prospers, we will be blessed, we will prosper (as God sees fit), and we will be in good health. Obedience is key. Jesus said whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. and it will move. He also said that if we confess with our mouth and believe in our heart, we will have what we say. If you are struggling with your finances, here are Bible verses about financial prosperity that you can stand on His Word and decree and increase your faith. Luke 6:38: Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.
Proverbs 11:24-25: One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. Proverbs 3:9: Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops… Proverbs 11:25: The generous soul will be made rich, and he who waters will also be watered himself. Matthew 6:2: So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 2 Corinthians 13:3: If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. Deuteronomy 28:11–12: “And the Lord shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the Lord swore unto thy fathers to give thee." “The Lord shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.” Deuteronomy 28:6: “You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out.” Romans 8:32: “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?” Proverbs 10:22: “The blessing of the Lord brings wealth, without painful toil for it.” Psalm 68:19: “Blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with benefits, the God of our salvation!” Psalms 145:16: “Thou openest thine hand, and satisfies the desire of every living thing.” Philippians 4:19: “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” Job 22:21 : “Submit to God and be at peace with him; in this way, prosperity will come to you.” 2 Corinthians 9:9–11 : “As it is written: “He has scattered abroad His gifts to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.” Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your store of seed and will increase the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way to be generous on every occasion…” Joel 2:18–19 : “Then the Lord will be zealous for His land, and pity His people. The Lord will answer and say to His people, “Behold, I will send you grain and new wine and oil, and you will be satisfied by them; I will no longer make you a reproach among the nations.” Matthew 6:31-33: So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. So according to God’s Word, it is His will that we prosper in health and financially. It is okay to have wealth and financial success. The danger is in our relationship to money, not the money itself. What many people miss is that we should see wealth as a tool to be used to help others. The more abundance you create in your life, the more you can bless others. So yes, God has no problem with you receiving the abundance Jesus went to the Cross for you to have (John 10:10). It is not God's will to bless your wrong reasons. |
